For spectators travelling by car to the NEC, parking can be booked direct with the site operator from the journey planner

Q: How can I plan my journey?

A. You can plan your journey through the Games Journey Planner. This planner has been created specifically for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. It will show you the best route to get to and from the venue on time.

Q: I have a Blue Badge but all Blue Badge parking is sold out. What can I do?

A. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide unlimited Blue Badge parking at venues due to various security and operational restrictions. There are a range of accessible travel options available to each venue, with Blue Badge being one of those options. If you are travelling to Birmingham, venues are served by Accessible Shuttle Buses from the City Centre and as such, City Centre parking could be used.
There are also Accessible Shuttles from Rail Stations that are available for use if you have travelled by taxi / dropped off by private vehicle / arrived by train at the station hubs. Further details can be found here: www.birmingham2022.com/travel

Q: Do I have to book my parking space in advance?

A. All spectators wishing to park and use the service must book their space in advance of travelling to the competition venue.

Booking Your Parking Space

Q. Do I have to pay to park and use the service?

A. You will be charged a fee to park at all Games Park and Ride sites with the exception for the Triathlon event at Sutton Park (Arena Field).
To guarantee a space, we recommend booking as soon as you know your plans. We have a small number of early bird tickets available for those who book in advance.
You do not have to pay to travel on the shuttle bus - the cost of this is included in the spectator ticket.

Getting to the Car Park

Q: How do I get to the car park?

A. Please refer to the confirmation email you received at booking for details. It contains a map and directions attached to get to your chosen car park.

Q: What do I need to take with me?

A. If you have a Blue Badge booking, it is recommended that you display your ticket clearly in your windscreen on approach to the area; your ticket can be printed at home or we can send to you (for a fee). Your ticket will also be available on your phone. For general Park & Ride/ Park & Walk you can either print your ticket or show your ticket on your phone.

Q: Are there any restrictions on the types of vehicles permitted to park?

A. Height restrictions differ for each car park. It is important you check what restrictions apply before booking.
Sports Utility Vehicles may park if they meet these requirements. Please refer to the height restriction applying to your car park here.

Booking Your Parking Space

Q: How long can I park for?

A. Parking tickets will be valid only for the duration of the competition session you have purchased. The parking ticket is not valid after the competition session has expired. All vehicles must leave the site after their ticket has expired and each parking ticket will state the time you have to vacate the site by. Your vehicle is likely to be towed away if it is left on site after the parking ticket session has expired.

Q: I am attending 2 separate sessions at the same competition venue on the same day. Can I book 1 space and leave my vehicle all day?

A. You will need to book parking for every competition session you are attending, particularly when they are at the same competition venue on the same day.
Once you have booked parking for each competition session you are at attending at that venue on the same day, you will not have to move your car to another car park serving that venue, unless requested to do so by the site operations team.

Q: I am attending 2 separate competition sessions in one day. Can I leave my vehicle at the park and ride site to travel to another competition venue by another means?

A. No, your ticket is only valid for the competition session you have purchased. Each Park and Ride site serves 1 specific competition venue only. There are no shuttle bus services between competition venues. You may wish to consider other transport options for your each specific venue before finalising your travel plans.

Customer Support After Booking

Q: What if my plans change after the booking?

A. You can cancel the ticket by emailing birmingham2022@epdataservices.com with your ticket reference, name and postcode.
You can then make a new car parking booking at any time before the day of the event. Please note all bookings are non-refundable.

Q: I haven’t received my confirmation email, what should I do?

Arriving at the Parking Site

Q: What are the safety and security measures in place at the parking site?

A. The car parks have been designed to keep spectators safe at all times. Staff will be easily identifiable, with identification badges and high vis clothing. Whilst in the car park, it is important that all spectators follow the signage towards the shuttle service or competition venue (if walking).
Although some sites have CCTV and are manned by security, please note that all vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk. Birmingham 2022 Spectator Park & Ride and Palk & Walk accepts no liability for damage or loss incurred while parked on site.
Arena Field Sutton Park, Four Oaks Farm Cannock Chase and Exhall School are greenfield sites. Some surfaces may be uneven. Please take extra care when moving round the site.

Arriving at the Venue (Blue Badge Only)

Q: On the day, how do I access Blue Badge parking at the competition venue?

A. As you approach the car park, follow directional signage and marshals to the venue permit checkpoint where your booking will be validated. You can either print the car park booking confirmation to display in your windscreen, or show digital confirmation on your phone to a marshal. Once you have done this, you will be directed to your Blue Badge parking space.
